Nutrition plays an important role in both cancer management and prevention. All patients are provided with a personal 75-minute nutrition consultation with a Registered Dietitian, as well as continued follow-up support and guidance.
Please note: Initial nutrition consultation is required before attending nutrition classes.
Our individual nutrition consultations are designed to support your nutrition and overall health. During this initial appointment, there will be a review of your health history and current nutrition intake, including considerations for treatment side effects, digestion, immune support, and overall nourishment through body, mind and spirit. Our nutrition team will explore how food breaks down in your body and factors that may be affecting current intake including the social and emotional considerations of food and eating. The main goal of our nutrition team is to support in decreasing fear and anxiety around food choices. Our nutrition team welcomes any questions you may have around food, diet, vitamins and supplements, etc. Patients are asked to complete a 3-Day Food Record in advance of this initial consultation for review during the appointment.
Subsequent to the initial consultation, 45-minute follow-up appointments are available to all patients which allows time for continuous support for either long-term nourishment goals, or to be able to adapt to changing health considerations.
