InspireHealth’s Inaugural Rain Walk

March 13, 2016 – Queen Elizabeth Park, Vancouver

170 participants joined us to celebrate and raise money for InspireHealth’s inaugural Rain Walk on Sunday 13th March, 2016 raising over $70,000.  The event itself brought an amazing energy and sense of community. We had speeches from dedicated members as well as RBC Olympian Mercedes Nicoll, the most decorated rider of the Canadian women’s halfpipe team.  We enjoyed delicious food and beverages compliments of sponsors, laughter yoga, and many raffle prizes. We couldn’t be more thankful to all those who helped make this possible, we are truly blown away by surpassing our goal!

A BIG thank you to all our staff, volunteers, sponsors and members for making our first rainy Rain Walk one to remember! Save the date for mid-March next year as we hope to bring the walk to our Victoria and Kelowna centres and set a fundraising goal of $150,000.

Our official sponsors of the Rain Walk were Holy Crap, Findlandia, SierraSil, Tag Umbrella, Kintec, Pure Integrative Pharmacy, and RBC. Thank you also to our food and beverage sponsors Powerplant, Happy Water, Olympic, David’s Tea. And finally to our raffle sponsors Spud, Lamar Advertising Company, Field & Social, Ride Cycle Club, Whitecaps F.C., The Juice Truck, Pure Barre, Sequoia Company of Restaurants, and O5 Tea – THANK YOU ALL!

Paddle with InspireHealth

September 7, 2013 – Trepanier Bay Beach, Peachland in support of our Southern Interior – Kelowna Centre

We could not be happier with the outcome of our very first Paddle With InspireHealth! An unusually wet morning turned into a great day of fun, food, and community, as paddlers came together in support of a great cause. Although the final tally isn’t quite in, donations have topped $20,000 – far beyond our expectations.

Thank you to everyone who made the day a success: our guides who provided instruction, boats and boards and kept everyone safe and entertained; our enthusiastic volunteers who helped with everything from promotion to clean up; our staff for donating their time for the day to ensure all funds raised went to support programs; Nature’s Fare for the tasty and healthy lunch; all the businesses who donated prizes, snacks and swag bag items; our members who came out to support the event; and of course our paddlers who did a fabulous job raising both funds and awareness. Thank you all and we will see you next year!

We live in a forward-facing world. Things like w We live in a forward-facing world.

Things like walking, holding a steering wheel or book, eating, scrolling our devices, and interacting with others, especially virtually, are all taking place in front of us.

It's in these moments that we can forget about good posture. Slumped shoulders and neck strain are a sign for us to be more mindful of how we balance our bodies.

Movements and stretches are needed throughout the day to give our bones, muscles, and joints proper care and attention. Standing up every 20 minutes to shake off our sitting posture and opening up through our chest will allow us to release stagnant energy in our body.

Our muscles, bones and joints will thank us.

Sometimes, we need a reminder to notice and apprec Sometimes, we need a reminder to notice and appreciate the simple things we have in our lives.

Take a moment to look around your home for the “simple” things that add value to your life, but that you may take for granted. Perhaps it’s sipping from your favourite tea mug, the smell of a beeswax candle, your warmest slippers, or your dishwasher.

Simple things are so precious if we pause to hold gratitude for them. For example, “I am grateful for my coziest blanket. It keeps me nice and warm every night".

Now, take a few more moments to journal your thoughts of gratitude for the "simple" things in your life that bring you warmth.
