About InspireHealth

Since 1997, InspireHealth has supported patients during and after their cancer treatment
with exercise therapy, stress reduction, nutritional learning and counselling support.
InspireHealth is a Canadian leader in integrative cancer care
with medical doctors, clinical counsellors, dietitians and exercise therapists
all working together for the benefit of the patient.

Since COVID-19, we have transitioned to virtual programming and services
to continue providing critical support to vulnerable cancer patients.
All of our services are completely free of charge and no referrals are required.
As a non-profit organization, we rely on the support of individual and
corporate donors like you to make this possible.

We know that a healthy diet with high vegetable an We know that a healthy diet with high vegetable and fruit consumption is a key factor in primary cancer prevention BUT there's a lack of specific dietary recommendations for cancer survivors.

Our April 2021 Research Update reviews the literature as well as the meta-analysis of 28 cohort studies — reporting an association between vegetable and fruit intake and cancer prognosis, cancer recurrence, site-specific cancer mortality, and overall mortality in cancer survivors.

We nourish ourselves in so many ways — whether i We nourish ourselves in so many ways — whether it’s eating nutritious foods, spending time with a loved one, taking time for a spiritual practice, or going to see a doctor or counsellor when we need help.

We can be grateful for the opportunity to nourish ourselves in ways that feel right for us. For example, “I feel grateful for the chance to play piano today. The rhythm of keys under my fingers feel calming and give me a feeling of peace”.

Take a few moments to write down your thoughts.

Join us tonight or on April 20th at 6pm for our bi-weekly GratiTuesday Gratitude Meditation class, where we can share and practice gratitude together. Online class registration link in bio or at http://ow.ly/zT3g50EidkE

🌦️ Spring is the season to get started on you 🌦️ Spring is the season to get started on your garden, if you haven’t already done so. You can pick up some seeds or even some seedlings at your local grocery or garden store.

Don’t have a lot of outdoor space? Consider some planters or pots, which work well for greens, herbs, tomatoes, peas, beans, and even strawberries.

Don't have a green thumb? Starting small, with just one type of herb, can yield wonderful results. Herbs are low maintenance and can do well on a windowsill inside your home if you're lacking outdoor space, and if you tend to forget to water your plants.

FYI, time spent leisurely in the garden can be very meditative and allows you to connect with your body, your food, and nature. 🌱
