I strongly believe in the innate power within all of us to grow to become our most authentic selves, heal from suffering, and connect deeply with ourselves and others. Through personal experience, I am confident that therapy is an avenue where healing can transpire in the presence of a trusted, safe, compassionate and non-judgemental counsellor – values that I cherish. My passion for counselling and psychology has developed from my own journey of navigating through and healing from a family history of chronic depression. When we learn how to take care of ourselves, we develop the capacity to access our own inner resilience and can make meaningful changes in our lives.
I am both honored and excited to be working at InspireHealth as a part of this fantastic multidisciplinary team where our goal together is focused on empowering people to support their own health and wellbeing – body, mind, emotions, and spirit. It is truly inspiring to work with such enthusiastic people in supporting each other and our patients to achieve and maintain meaningful lives, even in challenging circumstances.
I am a certified counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia. Through my education, research and previous experience supporting cancer survivors with their sexual health and quality of life concerns, I am aware of the profound and multitude of ways in which cancer and its treatment can impact people and their relationships with themselves and their loved ones.
