Kathy McLaughlin works as a management consultant and executive coach helping business leaders and their teams to achieve extraordinary results by aligning vision, strategy and execution. Kathy helps her clients to develop strategic clarity, build leadership bench strength and implement the changes needed to achieve growth objectives. She is an advanced level Professional Executive Coach (PCC) and Family Enterprise Advisor (FEA); and is trained in change management, strategic planning, organizational development, conflict resolution, mediation and assessment tools including 360 evaluations, Myers-Briggs and ASSESS®.
Kathy draws on 20 years of experience in corporate roles (sales, marketing and operations); 4 years as a senior partner in a leading executive search firm; 10 years of consulting to a wide variety of private companies, family businesses, not-for-profit and public sector organizations; and 15 years in board director roles. Her extensive experience in board leadership and governance includes serving as a director with not-for-profits and public sector boards. She has consulted on board governance and strategy to a wide variety of charitable organizations, associations, private companies and public sector organizations. She is currently enrolled in the ICD.D Director’s Education Program through SFU’s Beedie School of Business and the Rotman School of Management.
As a two-time survivor of cancer and recipient of two liver transplants, Kathy brings her indefatigable life spirit and positive energy to every coaching relationship. Back to Life, the story of her personal journey and triumph, was published in 2015. Kathy conducts frequent motivational talks and workshops on work-life balance and the power of a positive spirit, and has been a keynote speaker for the BC Cancer Foundation, BC Transplant, the Canadian Liver Foundation, BC Pharmacy Association, BC Forestry Industry Initiative and many others.
