Vitamin D – A Simple and Inexpensive Way to Prevent Cancer
Recent research suggests that more than 100,000 new cases of cancer could be prevented each year in North America, and three-quarters of deaths from breast and colorectal cancers could be avoided –all by a single vitamin.
February 23, 2010 - In a study published in the Annals of Epidemiology (2009 July), Garland et al. concluded that supplementation with vitamin D (2,000 IU per day) would prevent approximately 58,000 new cases of breast cancer and 49,000 new cases of colorectal cancer each year, and three-fourths of deaths from these diseases in the United States and Canada.
